DJ/artist/musician/designer/all round love/hate figure at Valentine HQ – label founder and 6ft 3 Elvis impersonator Joe Ladyboy has happily spent the last five years putting out records, arranging gigs, designing/remixing and mis-managing various 'artists' as (in his own words) a 'rather neat excuse' for not getting around to recording his debut LP. Fortunately for the rest of us, 2006 finally saw him run out of said excuses and the finished article arrived just in time before Valentine Records shut up shop: Talk about leaving things to the last minute!

Joe was also general caretaker of the Valentine a&r department, sleeve designer for the vast majority of our output and a fully qualified campanologist to boot. Over the last few years he has often be seen DJing at Valentine’s Transmission nights in Manchester and was (in part) responsible for the mess of trendy haircuts, club friendly confectionary and bastardised pop music which was To Amy With Love. Last sighting: Manchester Airport (December 2006) with a bag of jelly babies and a copy of Hex Enduction Hour by The Fall
